If summer had a signature flavor in Central New York, it would taste exactly like a night at Chris’ Place, where every bite, every laugh, and every note of live music feels like it was made just for you! Nestled at Foxfire Golf Course at Village Green (1 Village Green North in Baldwinsville), this longtime local favorite is open Monday through Wednesday from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, offering not just a meal but a full experience that begins the moment you arrive and lingers long after you leave. Formerly known as Pasta’s on the Green, Chris’s Place carries forward more than fifteen years of tradition while stepping confidently into a vibrant new chapter under owner Chris Bandera, whose passion for community radiates through every corner of the space. With heartfelt appreciation to former partner Mike Tanzella, the transition feels less like a change and more like an evolution, preserving everything people love while infusing fresh energy. The newly refreshed banquet space, complete with updated finishes and elegant chandeliers, adds a polished glow, while the patio hums with life during the beloved Party on the Patio every Thursday. From June through September, live music fills the air Wednesday through Saturday without fail, ranging from laid back acoustic sets to full bands and lively Saturday surprises, creating an atmosphere that perfectly embodies their guiding spirit, Where Friends Become Family.

We visited on a sun-drenched Thursday with the kids, and from the first moment, the warmth of the staff set the tone. Our server Ella was nothing short of exceptional, going above and beyond by crafting a special cherry lemonade just for Maggie, a small gesture that spoke volumes! Runner Yadi kept everything flowing seamlessly, and it was clear that this team operates like a true family, with long standing staff like Karen Wilcox and Vicky Williams, both with over fourteen years alongside Chris, creating a level of consistency and care you can feel.

We kicked things off with loaded nachos piled high with every imaginable topping, each chip layered with bold flavor and finished with cool sour cream and vibrant salsa that brought everything together in perfect balance. I love how they never skimp on the toppings, especially my favorite, jalapenos! Then came the showstopper, Kyle’s signature end loaded Philly cheesesteak, a creation you simply will not find anywhere else! Served stuffed into a half a loaf of fresh Italian point bread, it was overflowing with tender steak, sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, and a melty blend of mozzarella and provolone that stretched with every bite. It was hearty, indulgent, and absolutely unforgettable. I went for the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with fries, and it delivered exactly what you hope for when you see those words on a menu. The chicken was crispy and juicy with just the right level of heat, balanced beautifully by cool pickles, crisp lettuce and a creamy spread that tied everything together. Maggie was thrilled with her perfectly made cheeseburger and fries, simple and satisfying in the way only a classic done right can be. Johnny could not get enough of his pepperoni flatbread pizza, each slice disappearing faster than the last, a clear sign of success by any standard.

Beyond the food, what truly sets Chris’ Place apart is the atmosphere Chris and his family have cultivated. His wife Patty and their children (including daughters Lauren and Alexis) are part of the heartbeat here, helping create a space that feels like a second home not just for them, but for everyone who walks through the doors! With three full bars including a downstairs option for golfers, an amin bar, and a lively patio bar, plus leagues for cornhole, darts, poker, and pitch, along with trivia nights year-round, there is always something happening. Even as the menu evolves with exciting new additions arriving this May, the promise remains the same, the food you love, the faces you know, and the feeling that you belong.
Special shout out for the professional photos to Alexis Bandera of Light Haus Studios, whose work captures the same warmth and vibrancy you experience in person! Chris’s Place is not just a restaurant, it is a gathering place, a celebration of community, and a testament to what happens when passion, consistency, and genuine hospitality come together. Whether you are stopping in for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or a night of music under the summer sky, you will leave already planning your return. Because here, it is not just a slogan. It is a promise kept every single day. Where friends truly do become family.
