There might still be snow on the ground, but that won’t stop you from running to your favorite stores to see the new spring clothes on the rack. Ever since the weather got cold, I’ve been dreaming of the sun coming out so I can go back to wearing dresses and jackets rather than snow boots and a parka. Designers are bringing it back to the basics this spring with the white button down. It’s a beloved classic that can work for just about any occasion. Amped-up versions with ruffles or deconstructed elements popped up on runways like Phillip Lim and Zac Posen. Pair it with a skirt and heels for a business casual outfit or your favorite pair of ripped jeans for an edgy look on casual day running errands. Slip on a leather jacket and you’ll be looking ultra cool.
Orange You Glad It’s Spring?
Bright orange sure does pack a punch when you add it into your wardrobe. Designers like Altuzarra and Dion Lee featured totally orange looks on the runway, but if that’s not your style you can tone it down a bit. Add pops of orange to your beauty looks with lipstick or nail polish or add a fun accessory like a purse or necklace. You’ll definitely feel like spring has sprung in this color.
Getting Down in Denim
Jil Sander Navy and Opening Ceremony took denim out of fall and winter and brought it into your spring outfit lineup. This season, anything denim is fair game, so go for a structured top or a midi-length circle skirt. These looks feature lightweight denim so you won’t feel weighted down. Go for denim all over or pick and choose how you want to incorporate it. Whatever you decide, you’ll look totally chic.
Show A Little Shoulder
When the sun comes out, it’s time to show off a little skin. This spring is all about loving your shoulders. Jason Wu and Derek Lam featured shoulder-bearing ensembles on their spring runways. Show them off in a maxi dress or a cute halter-top and finally get some of that much needed Vitamin D.
Lovely in Lingerie
Givenchy and Calvin Klein want you to love the way you look in lingerie both in an out of the bedroom. Silk and lace dresses are feminine and sexy for a night out. Pair them with a structured jacket or a pair of slip on sneakers for daytime. There’s no reason not to let the rest of the world see what makes you feel so gorgeous in the privacy of your own home.
