Drive around Central New York and even though the leaves are barely changing and the days are still warm, the Halloween decorations are HERE. They’re big, they’re clever and creepy and you can drive around spook spotting like people toured for Christmas lights not so long ago.

Syracuse is enjoying the scary season of the year.

And there’s one organization we can thank for making the Halloween season even more fun – Villa Entertainment.

The Zazzara family began serving up hits more than 60 years ago when they debuted Villa Lemonade and Ice Cream as part of the New York State Fair’s fun food, and as a catering treat at concerts, sports events and local gatherings.

Not long after they began offering Pizza Fritte, (or pizze fritte) a traditional Neapolitan street food made by frying pieces of pizza dough until golden and puffed – and served huge and dusted with powdered sugar at the Fair. In fact, Pizza Fritte became such a hit people would use the stand as a landmark when discussing where to meet while at the Fair.

Then came Fright Nights – a haunted attraction held around Halloween and also based at the Fair.

But why stop there? Owner/Operator Grazzi Zazzara went all out and purchased an 80,000+ square foot factory building, and set about turning it into one of the best-of-all-time scare shows, right here in Syracuse on LePage Place.

The building itself is a sight to behold – brick and shadows, echoes and hidden niches. Then imagine it filled with ghouls and ghosts, and 5 haunted attractions you can visit – if you dare!

The Monster Movie Matinee

This Hollywood hell is sure to push you beyond the edge of your seat as you plunge into the world of the silver screen. Prepare for an immersive experience that will redefine fear itself.

Devil’s Dungeon Slide to Hell

It’s just a slide, though that’s pretty exciting. Except, it slides right through the layers of hell – turns and twists and you’re never really sure if there is a way out…

Burgen Manor

It appears to be a place fit for the gentry. But don’t be fooled. The manor is no ordinary haunted house. Keep your wits about you as you lurch through its corridors – and watch out for uninvited guests. If you happen to stumble upon the torture chamber, well, best of luck to you.

Lady Lamson’s Cursed Voyage

Come aboard! 3-D technology meets boundary-pushing set design in this terrifying adventure aboard a full-size ship. Explore the Captain’s quarters, deck, and hull as the boards creak under your feet.
