Trexx Nightclub

Sometimes, a name tells you more about a place than you initially think!

Trexx seems pretty straight forward when you see the word: T Rex the dinosaur, right? But how about a king, excellent, a journey (like, trek), or “excess” as in big, bold and out there, and even XX for rated “more!”

That’s the big picture at Trexx, a downtown Syracuse nightclub that three evenings a week offers you more, an excellent, big party, and a lot of whatever you’re looking for!

Opened 30 years ago, the club is the longest-running nightclub in the city. And to be able to say that, given the ways the world, state, city and downtown vibe have changed in the past 30 years tells you a lot about their dedication to offering a great time to patrons.

The club offers 2 large rooms, a patio for those soon-to-be-here summer evenings outside, bars, lots of easy parking (something we here in Syracuse really appreciate!), live music, and more.

The venue serves a diverse crowd, and is open three nights a week, with drag shows, drink specials and karaoke on Thursdays, early drag shows on Friday and Saturday – then you can dance the night away on Fridays and Saturdays.

One of the keys to any successful and long-running club, owners Al and Dan explained, is being ready to change with the music. Over the years, the club has offered it all, from Rave parties to Top 40s and everything in between. And more importantly, Trexx keeps that variety going every time the party starts. “We offer it all,” the owners said. “The music changes every night.”

One of the best parts of being part of a long-running club, the owners shared, is the people you meet, and continue to meet every day. “We meet people everywhere we go that have been to the club. They go, their friends, now maybe their kids. The club is a great way to meet old friends. And new friends.”
