We all know February is the month of love. Valentine’s Day is coming up and we’re all snuggled up by the fire watching Netflix with our better halves. Even though we never want to leave the house for fear of getting buried in the snow outside, we could all use a night out.
Date night fashion doesn’t have to mean heels and a dress. We know that isn’t happening in the freezing cold. But getting dressed in the winter also doesn’t mean you’re limited to leggings and sweatshirts. Whether you’re going out to a fancy dinner or you’re grabbing drinks at your favorite bar, date night fashion can be cozy and effortless.
For a Dinner Date… A cocktail dress and stilettos are the last things you want to slip on this month, but you can still dress up without freezing to death. Slip on some fleecy tights with a sweater dress. You’ll feel like you’re still in your pajamas, but you’ll look like a million bucks. Wear some high-heeled boots and you’ve got the perfect winter dinner look.
For the Movies… Going out to the movies may seem like a no brainer – who cares what you’re wearing if you’re sitting in the dark? But if it’s a first date, you want to dress to impress. Pull on your favorite pair of jeans (the ones that make your butt look amazing) and go for a chunky sweater. Pull on a leather jacket or a blazer to give your laid back look a little extra structure.
For Drinks at a Bar… You can kind of mix the dinner date and movie date outfits a little bit here depending on what kind of date this is and what kind of bar you’re going to. If it’s somewhere really trendy, go for a cool dress and tights with a leather jacket. If it’s your favorite local place, go for jeans but add some cute accessories to dress the look up.
For the Night In… Whether you’ve been in a relationship forever or you’re just getting to know each other, it’s always nice to put a little extra effort in for those nights on the couch with the one you love. Ditch the oversized sweatpants and opt for leggings with some a cool style component like suede or leather panels. Throw on your favorite fuzzy sweater for some added texture that your partner will love to touch and you’re good to go.
