Anytime is the perfect time to come in to Avicolli’s! Stop in for lunch or dinner, a full meal for date night or pizza night with the family, end the night with a nice glass of or a homemade dessert. Derry and I went to Avicolli’s on an unseasonably
warm November evening. As soon as we walked in we were promptly greeted by the friendly hostess and our knowledgeable server. Upon opening our menu we noticed that our favorite appetizer was no longer listed, instead of being despaired we simply asked our server and he said the Chef would gladly prepare them for us. We were quickly greeted by our favorite, the Long Hot Parmigiana which is roasted long hot peppers, plum tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese finished in the oven. Soooo good doesn’t even come close to describing this hot and spicy, sweet and cheesy dish, a definite must try for pepper lovers! We were very hungry, and in no particular hurry, so we also ordered fried calamari. The calamari was lightly battered and fried to a perfect crisp. They were perfectly paired with fresh lemon slices and marinara dipping sauces. We were then served our fresh and crisp salads topped with a heaping helping of crumbled blue cheese with homemade (and super tasty) garlic knots and dipping oil. I was delighted when my entrée arrived; a huge helping of that Central New York favorite, Chicken Riggies. This creamy, cheesed, and 11838678_945844458832126_5074475025267940845_otomatoey dish has the perfect amount of creaminess and spice; its no wonder this dish is beloved by all! Derry had the Cavatelli with Broccoli & Mushrooms which was fresh broccoli florets sautéed with sliced mushrooms in extra virgin olive oil, finished with fresh garlic, white wine and Romano cheese. Derry also decided to add shrimp to the dish and she said that although the dish would have been delicious without it, the shrimp made it truly spectacular! Both of our entrees were cooked to perfection and the portions were gigantic. One of the best parts of ordering an entrée from Avicolli’s is that if you like leftovers you will know what you are having for lunch the following day! We were nothing short of stuffed but at Avicolli’s it is a huge mistake to pass on one of their homemade desserts. This time we chose to split a rich and creamy cannolli. The creamy filling is perfectly complimented by the crispy shell and the perfect way to end another fantastic meal!

As always, our meal was nothing short of delicious, the atmosphere was warm and comfortable and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your meal.
