Blue Spruce Lounge

Modern. Innovative. Delicious. These are just some of the words that can be used to describe the Blue Spruce Lounge.  With their unique perspectives on taking comfort food to the next level the Blue Spruce Lounge is truly something you have to experience for yourself!  DO-5Recently opened and completely renovated, the Blue Spruce Lounge is located at 400 7th North Street Liverpool, NY in the Maplewood Suites.  The Blue Spruce Lounge is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from  4pm to 11pm, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 2 am and Sunday from 1pm to 8 pm. The menu at the Blue Spruce Lounge boasts everyday favorites while the daily specials and chefs creations are sure to impress! I also have it on good authority that the haddock is some of the best in town!

There is always something going on at the Blue Spruce Lounge.  Come in for dinner and enjoy the intimate modern dining room and well stocked bar and mouth watering cuisine, hang out on the brand new patio, and stop in to listen to the best live music in town.  Check out their facebook page and their website at bluesprucelounge.com to see a list of all of the upcoming events.  You won’t want to miss out on bands like Dirt Road Ruckus on July 9, TJ Sacco on July 22, and Showcase with Billy Dean and Custom Taylor Band on July 28 just to name a few.  DO-6Nothing beats lives music in the summer and there is no better place to hear it than the Blue Spruce Lounge!

Kyle and I arrived at the Blue Spruce Lounge on a Sunny Summer day.  We were immediately impressed by the modern and stylish décor and friendly staff.  We sat in a cozy booth and quickly decided on trying both of the chef’s special appetizers: crab stuffed peppers and smoked salmon canapés.  The saltiness of the crab was perfectly paired with the sweetness of the red and orange peppers.  The salmon canapés were probably the best thing I have eaten in months.  The salmon, which is smoked on site, melted in your mouth and the dill and onion were the perfect complement to the flavor.  Even if you don’t think you like salmon, you would like this; it was absolutely incredible. We then enjoyed a fresh and crisp wedge salad with Italian and crumbly blue cheese and fresh bread with house made garlic butter. For our entrees Kyle had the 12 oz. Delmonico, cooked to perfection with a side of crispy French fries and I had the Bleu Cajun Steak Alfredo (a Cajun blackened steak mixed with pappardelle pasta and topped with Blue Cheese Alfredo Sauce).  The steak was cooked perfectly and the blue cheese alfredo sauce stuck to every bite of the like pasta.  Our meal was fantastic and we will certainly be back soon!

DO-3The concept for the menu at the Blue Spruce is Upscale Comfort Food, and the talented chef absolutely hit the mark on this! Try succulent appetizers like the BBQ Frips (Warm Potato Frips Topped With Caramelized Onions, Black Olives, Tomatoes, Jalapenos, BBQ Grilled Chicken and Creamy Monterey Jack Cheese) or Salt Potato Lollipop Trio (Pulled Pork, loaded or traditional).  Come in for a quick bite to eat and try The Sapling (8 oz.. patty of Angus Beef Burger topped with American Cheese lettuce and Tomato served on a fresh Roll), The North Side (A generous portion of slow Roasted Pork Loin topped with Broccoli Rabe, sharp Provolone Cheese and Roasted Garlic Aioli served on a large Baguette), Blue Spruce Pie (Grilled Flat Bread topped with Garlic Sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, Buffalo Chicken, Diced Celery, and Blue Cheese), or the Cajun Chicken Salad (Wild arugula kissed with a warm lemon vinaigrette topped with Cajun grilled chicken, dried blueberries and shaved parmesan cheese) and you won’t be dDO-2isappointed!  The entrees are the Blue Spruce Lounge are absolutely remarkable.  You can’t go wrong with the Chicken Florentine (Two Chicken Cutlets sautéed in white wine, shallots and garlic topped with fresh hot spinach and served with rice pilaf and vegetable), the Tuscan Penne (Penne Pasta sautéed with sun dried tomatoes, black olives, cooked spinach and extra virgin olive oil topped with a garlic sprinkle and pecorino Romano cheese), Miso Glazed Salmon (8 oz hand cut salmon filet over rice pilaf. Served with vegetable of the day), or the Double Stuffed Tomahawk Pork Chop (A center cut pork chop stuffed with corn bread, yellow raisins, hot peppers, onion, celery and shallots served with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable).

The Blue Spruce Lounge also caters parties of all sizes.  They have an events room on site and off site catering for parties big and small are available. They also are happy to accommodate takeout orders!  When you are looking for great food, great prices, great staff, and a great place you need not look any further than the Blue Spruce Lounge.  Stop in today, you can thank me later!
