A heaping plate of Poutine (hand cut fries, smothered in a savory beef gravy and melted cheese curds.

Kyle and I went to the Blue Spruce Lounge on a sunny spring evening. We were immediately seated in a cozy booth and greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable server, Ashley. Everything on the menu looked great so we decided to start with some appetizers. We were thinking about the Philly Quesadilla (flour tortilla stuffed with shaved steak peppers, onions, jalapenos and cheddar jack) or the Chicken Wing Dip (a spicy mixture of buffalo sauce, pulled chicken, and diced celery served with hand cut pita chips) but we ultimately decided on the Poutine, a delicious dish of hand cut fries, smothered in a savory beef gravy and melted cheese curds, along with the Shrimp dippers, (shrimp lightly battered in IPA beer batter and tossed in a medium sauce).  Both appetizers were absolutely wonderful! There were so many dishes that sounded like great entrees like the Portobello Sandwich, (Grilled Portobello cap, roasted red bell peppers, mozzarella cheese, and balsamic reduction on a toasted roll), The Blue Spruce [Pizza] Pie (Grilled flatbread with garlic rub, mozzarella cheese, buffalo shredded chicken, diced celery and blue cheese), and the Year Round Thanksgiving Turkey (Tender roasted turkey breast hand cut and smothered in a flavor packed pan gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a side of cranberries). Ultimately we both decided on a delicious shrimp dish! I had the Shrimp Riggies (A Utica New York Favorite. Rigatoni cooked in a spicy pink sauce with garlic, peppers, and perfectly cooked shrimp on top) This dish was fresh and delicious and the shrimp were tender and perfect. Kyle decided on the Shrimp Scampi (Jumbo shrimp lightly sautéed in a lemon white wine garlic sauce over pasta). The few bites that he let me steal before he devoured everything but the plate were scrumptious!
