The Summer of Shoes

BF-3 After you spend so much time agonizing over your hair or your makeup or your clothes, your accessories can tend to be an after thought – especially your shoes. Maybe you wear the same shoes every single day or you’ve had the same few pairs for years now because splashing out a ton of money on trendy stilettos just seems like a waste. Keeping on-trend while picking a few pairs that will still fit into your personal style for at least a few years isn’t impossible though. I’ve rounded up four pairs of summer shoes that will last the test of time and make everyone envious of your fashion-forward taste.

The Chunky Heel
Summer is the season when you’re moving around the most whether it’s a walk on the boardwalk at the beach or running from work to happy hour to dinner plans with your S.O. You’ve got places to go and your feet don’t deserve the pain that comes with sky-high heels. Instead, elevate your style and minimize discomfort with some low-heeled shoes with a thick, sturdy heel. Try out your favorite color or a cute pattern if you tend to wear a ton of neutrals or go for a low-key style if your clothes tend to be more adventurous.

BF-2The Simple Sneakers
You’ve seen everyone wearing Stan Smiths lately and they totally work because they’re classic white sneakers that make gym clothes look chic and work outfits look modern. They’re easy to walk in and go with pretty much any color, texture or pattern you’re wearing. No matter what time of year, sneakers are a solid investment.

The Loafers
Comfort is key in the summer heat, so why not wear an upgraded version of your favorite slippers? Paired with a flirty dress or structured pants, loafers are a great choice for the girl who needs shoes to wear with all different kinds of outfits. You can go super trendy with loafers that have quirky images or sayings on them, or grab a classic leather pair that transition easily from summer to fall.

BF-1The Beach-y Sandal
When you’re heading to brunch on Sunday morning or lounging on a tropical island, you’re going to want some sandals to show off your new pedicure. Simple nude and metallic sandals that strap all the way around the foot are my favorite to wear any day, but statement making sandals with straps climbing up your calf or other fun embellishments can take any simple outfit to the next level.
