After a long, cold and snowy winter, there’s one sure sign that summer is just around the corner – Eddie’s Restaurant is open!

Located at 901 Main Street in Sylvan Beach, Eddie’s is more than just a dining destination; it’s a cherished tradition that brings families and friends together over fantastic food and warm hospitality. Open seven days a week for lunch, dinner, and snacks – plus serving breakfast all day, Eddie’s is always ready to satisfy your cravings. Taking the kids to Eddie’s is always a special treat that we are so lucky to share with them! We arrived in the still sleepy village of Sylvan Beach on a breezy Thursday, found some close parking and started on our culinary journey. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted by the mile-high cream pie display that instantly brought back cherished childhood memories. The sight of these towering, decadent pies was enough to make our mouths water and set the stage for the feast to come We were so happy to have our favorite server, Emily, whose warm and friendly service made our visit even more enjoyable. We kicked off our meal with an appetizer that set the stage for an unforgettable meal: the shareable platter. This impressive assortment featured perfectly crispy and gooey mozzarella sticks, golden and delicious chicken tenders, massive onion rings, and flavorful cheddar broccoli bites, each one hot, fresh, and bursting with rich, savory flavors that made every bite pure perfection and served with a variety of dipping sauces. Alongside, we indulged in the Meatballs with Ricotta Cheese; this is an absolute MUST TRY with three generously portioned, tender meatballs bathed in Eddie’s very own Papa’s Famous Homemade Sauce, served on a bed of creamy ricotta and dotted with fresh basil that added a luxurious touch to an already mouthwatering dish.

The kids delighted in classic spaghetti and meatballs, featuring Papa’s Famous Homemade Sauce, a comforting dish that was both simple and spectacular, with a sauce so rich and flavorful it tasted like it had been simmering for hours to achieve the perfect depth, with perfectly cooked pasta soaking up the rich, savory sauce. Honestly my son might have eaten his weight in spaghetti that night! Meanwhile, Kyle opted for the Open Prime Rib Sandwich, an 8 oz. cut of succulent, slow-roasted prime rib served open-faced on garlic bread, a carnivore’s dream! Paired with a double order of crispy fries and a steaming bowl of New England clam chowder, it was a meal fit for a king, with every bite of the prime rib melting in the mouth, enhanced by the bold flavors of the garlic bread and the rich, creamy chowder. I savored the Bar-B-Que Plate, which showcased Eddie’s Famous Hot Ham, a side of fresh Caesar salad, and their legendary garlic fries. These fries are so delicious, perfectly crispy and infused with just the right amount of garlic, that they alone are worth the trip!

To finish off our incredible meal, we couldn’t resist sharing one of Eddie’s famous sundaes, the Mint Cookie Crunch which was my daughter’s choice and a longtime favorite of mine. This sundae is a towering masterpiece of mint chocolate chip ice cream drizzled with decadent hot fudge, topped with crumbled Oreo cookies, fluffy whipped cream, chocolate chips, and of course, the perfect cherry on top. It was the ultimate sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. And of course, as is tradition, I had to take a slice of banana cream pie home because no trip to Eddie’s is complete without it!

Since that fateful day when they ran out of hot dogs, no visit to Eddie’s is complete without trying their signature dish: The Original “Hot Ham” BBQ. This legendary sandwich, a staple since Eddie’s early days, features slow-simmered, spice-kissed ham piled high on a toasted bun for a uniquely delicious experience, with every bite delivering a perfect balance of smoky, spicy, and savory flavors that have made this sandwich legendary. And if you want to bring a little bit of Eddie’s magic home, don’t forget to grab a whole pie, a jar of Papa’s Famous Spaghetti Sauce, or a pound of their beloved Hot Ham.

Summer truly doesn’t begin until you’ve made your first trip of the season to Eddie’s.
