Red House Arts Center Launches its annual Shakespeare by the Lake Program with Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare by the Lake tours free, family friendly productions to various outdoor venues throughout Central New York. The Redhouse production of Romeo and Juliet was voted “Best Central New York Theatre of 2011” by the Post Standard and last year’s As You like It reached over 5000 people in the CNY and Adirondack regions.
This version of Much Ado About Nothing is edited and directed by Stephen Svoboda and features a cast of 8 professional actors who play all the roles.
This 60 minute adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most delightful comedies follows two young lovers on a most unusual path to the marriage!
“We are thrilled to be entering our 5th successful year of the Shakespeare By the Lake Program. It enables Redhouse to bring free, innovative, and accessible programming to families all over the CNY area. It also allows us to sustain our educational and outreach efforts which are so vital to engaging our surrounding communities” says Executive Artistic director Stephen Svoboda.
