Fashion and Beauty: My Holiday Gift Guide

As soon as Halloween hit, it seemed like everyone was ready for the holiday season. Every store has its decorations up and you can’t watch television without seeing a dozen holiday commercials. So I figured, why fight it? It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we should be celebrating. As whichever holiday you may celebrate comes closer, take a look at what you should be shopping for this season.

If you don’t want to fuss around with getting her shoes that don’t fit or a dress that’s too big, try getting her an accessory. A beautiful cashmere scarf or a simple cuff bracelet is a perfect choice. Stick to her favorite colors or the type of metal she always wears so you know it will fit in with her wardrobe.

For Your Brother: Over the past few years, guys have finally come to realize that being well groomed is sexy. Take advantage of this and help your brother clean himself up a bit with a new razor or beard trimmer. cosmetics-106982_1920Depending on how he likes to wear his facial hair, a new grooming tool will do the trick and you’ll be the one he can thank when he walks out of the house looking like a movie star.

For Your Sister: Stores like Sephora and Ulta have stocked their shelves with a million amazing holiday beauty gift sets. And I must say, as a beauty addict myself, beauty brands have outdone themselves this year. For the makeup junkie, grab a gorgeous blush palette and for the nail artist, pick up a set of sparkling polishes. Or if you want to give her beauty gifts all month long, go for a beauty Advent calendar that has a new product every day.

For Dad: Let’s face it, most dads have some pretty lame fashion sense. And that’s where you come in. A snuggly sweater always looks nice with a pair of dark jeans and some loafers. If your dad is especially dorky, go for a quirky bowtie. No matter what his style is, go for something nice and simple to help him look refined and put together – no more old t-shirts and sweatpants.9212947276_4bc692691c_b

For Yourself: Well we all saw this coming. It’s impossible to go holiday shopping without picking something up for yourself. So treat yourself to something really special this year. So many designers have amazing sales during December, so take advantage. A structured handbag or a new wallet may be just what you need. Stop by your favorite department store and add those coupons up to get the best deal. If you don’t need a new accessory, try a new sparkly dress for New Year’s Eve to start 2016 off the right way.
