Upon arriving at Harpoon Eddie’s, Kyle, the kiddos, I and were greeted by the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and smiling staff. The first and very important question that we were asked was where we would like to sit to enjoy our meal. You see, the outdoor seating on the sunny deck is ideal for those wanting to soak in the breathtaking views and lively surroundings. The golden beach sand stretches out invitingly, and the tranquil waters of Oneida Lake glisten under the sun, making it a picture-perfect setting for any meal. For those who prefer a cooler environment, the indoor seating area is just as inviting. The air-conditioned interior features large, picturesque windows that ensure you never miss the stunning scenery outside. We chose to sit inside due to the heat that day, and it was a wise decision for our little ones. The interior decor is both cozy and stylish, while still offering a comfortable retreat with beautiful views of the lake and beach. Our dining experience was only elevated by our server, Emilia, who was an absolute delight. Her sweet demeanor and expert recommendations guided us through our dining journey with ease. Emilia’s attentiveness and warm hospitality made us feel welcome and well-cared for, enhancing our overall experience.

We began our culinary adventure with the sharable platter, a generous assortment of chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, lager rings, and cheddar broccoli bites, served with marinara, BBQ, and honey mustard dipping sauces. Each item was cooked to perfection, with a delightful mix of flavors and textures that were perfect for sharing. At Emilia’s suggestion, we also tried the zip zap shrimp – lightly battered, fried shrimp tossed in Harpoon Eddie’s own spicy, creamy zip zap sauce. The shrimp were crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, and the sauce added a tantalizing kick that left us craving more. Choosing our main courses was a challenge given the extensive and mouth-watering menu that all sounded great on a hot summer evening.

Kyle decided on the new Harpoon Double Smash Burger, featuring two 4 oz. patties, signature Harpoon Burger Sauce, cheddar, lettuce, onion, and tomato, all served with house-made chips. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with the Harpoon Burger Sauce adding a unique, delectable touch. I opted for the new Chicken Cutlet Parmesan – a perfectly grilled garlic ciabatta loaf topped with a thinly pounded, pan-fried, breaded chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, homemade marinara sauce, and finished with fresh town basil. Each bite was a harmonious blend of crispy, savory, and fresh ingredients, making it a standout dish that I would highly recommend. We also split an order of the garlic parmesan fries and oh my goodness, these were out of this world scrumptious, perfectly golden brown and topped generously with garlic and parmesan cheese. I would highly recommend this dish to everyone who has taste buds! To finish our meal, we explored the Beachside Sweets menu. Kyle indulged in the Key Lime Pie, a zesty and creamy delight that was both refreshing and satisfying. I savored the Banana Cream Pie, famous at Eddie’s and enhanced with a touch of Harpoon flair – topped with shaved chocolate and chopped Reese’s cups. Both desserts were the perfect ending to our culinary adventure, leaving us with sweet memories of our visit.

There is one menu that we did not explore but will some sunny afternoon when the kids are with their grandparents: Harpoon Eddie’s Liquid Kitchen menu! The menu updated for the summer 2024 is a treasure trove of refreshing and innovative cocktails. The signature cocktails and frozen concoctions are only made better by the view. Highlights include the Pink Polka Dot Bikini with watermelon vodka, coconut rum, muddled mint leaves, topped with a splash of bubbly CO2 and a lemon; the Harpoon Fish Bowl made with Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, Peach Schnapps, pineapple juice, and Swedish Fish; the Key Lime Pie Colada with cake vodka, Irish cream liqueur, Piña colada mix, lime juice, and graham cracker topping; and the new Beach Bum, a refreshing combination of Bulleit Bourbon, strawberry, and lemonade. Each cocktail is expertly crafted, offering a delightful burst of flavors that perfectly complement the overall dining experience. They also have a great selection on tap so be sure to ask your server for something frosty to help wash down your awesome meal!

From the breathtaking beach views to the exquisite food and outstanding service, Harpoon Eddie’s is a destination you simply must visit. Whether you’re looking for a place to enjoy a leisurely meal with family and friends or a spot to indulge in delicious cocktails while watching the sunset over Oneida Lake, Harpoon Eddie’s delivers on all fronts. Make sure to plan a trip to Sylvan Beach this summer and immerse yourself in the exceptional dining experience that awaits you at Harpoon Eddie’s.
