Have the Hottest Wedding Party Ever

Happy 2016! Now that you’re done eating holiday cookies and wrapping gifts for what seemed like days, it’s time to move on to your next matter of business – planning your wedding. Whether your fiancé popped the question on New Years Eve or you’ve just been putting it off for a few months, it’s time to kick your planning into gear.

bride-her-bridesmaids-1429348-1919x2825This year is all about you and finding the perfect wedding ensembles for your perfect day. So
take some time and really think about what you’re going to want to see in those wedding albums ten, twenty…. fifty years from now that won’t leave you cringing and thinking, “Why did I make my bridesmaids wear those awful dresses?”

The Bridesmaids

Let’s face it, the bride deserves to look the best on her wedding day, but that does not mean the best friends should have to suffer in ugly (and expensive) dresses that they’ll never wear again. Pick something that is universally flattering, whether they all dress in the same color with different silhouettes or they all pick something in the same color family, you don’t have to stick your bridesmaids in anything that they won’t absolutely adore.

The Groomsmen

Guys have been stepping it up lately when it comes to adding some personal style to a wedding outfit. the-groom-1434951-1599x2404Try to get a feel for what the groomsmen wear on an everyday basis and incorporate that into the look. Do they all love Chuck Taylors? Maybe they are super hipster and would rather have a cool fitted suit with some statement socks that match the bridesmaids’ dresses. When the guys don’t have to be stuck in itchy tuxes, their personalities can shine through.

The Groom

We focus so much on the wedding dress that sometimes it’s easy to forget that guys want to look and feel good too. Once you decide on the theme of the wedding – is it black tie or something more casual? – then you can decide how dressy the groom will get. He may want to look suave and classic and wear some spats and tails, or maybe he’s all about fun and wants to stand out in a paisley jacket and colorful tie. As long as both partners are happy, there’s no harm in thinking outside the box.

The Bride

bride-301810You’ve been thinking about this dress since the day you knew what a wedding was. But just because the original idea was a princess dress with tons of frills doesn’t mean it has to be that way on the big day. A wedding dress should be something that reflects your style, but is also timeless. If you don’t think you’ll love a white beaded two-piece crop top outfit in a few decades, don’t go for it. Wear what feels right and what makes you want to dance all night long. Other people’s opinions or what’s popular in the magazines can lead you astray from time to time, so tune all other influences out for now and focus on what will be the cherry on top of the best day of your life.
