Our City has had grants and taxes all through our history. Our rich have gained throughout.
Our City has not. Our roads are crumbling and damage our cars, our sidewalks are worse, crime and safety beg for expertise that our Cities elite are longing to provide, our poor suffer in multiple ways, and our middle class fear their demise. Recent decades have been fertile ground for feeding despair. There could not be a worse time for status quo. There could not be a worse time for a Mayor who is indebted to and will repay his friends from the cash we so desperately need. Juanita’s team has knocked on 10’s of thousands of doors. The people listened. The people heard. Hope is genuinely awakening. The people believe in the hope of Juanita Perez Williams. The morale and spirit of our people are at stake. Truth, care and the heart of our City are at stake.
Or you will have more of the same path toward our Cities demise. Let’s look at our realities. Democrat and Republican are belief systems. If you are a Democrat and vote for the opposition, you have been manipulated. The opposition is trying to gain Democratic support yet he simply does not believe in Democratic principles. Let’s be honest. Juanita’s opposition tried hard to run on the Republican ticket and was turned down. His belief system is Republican and he is leaning toward consolidation.
If you are a Democrat you really do believe that everyone matters regardless of your skin color, your sexual orientation, your bank account or your address. If you are a Democrat you believe in a Shining City of thriving families not an impoverished neglected subsidiary of the county. Republicans do not believe in a woman’s right to choose and own and control her own body. They do not believe in across the board equality within the LGBT Community. They fought against the Family Leave Act. They do not believe in nor do their practices reflect that a fair living wage is a right, nor do they believe in Unions that protect the rights, safety and health of workers, nor do they pursue policies that insure the rights of, and opportunities for, all races. Republicans fought against Unions, Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid. In the same fashion Republicans are stripping Obama Care, not for a better plan (after 8 years they do not have one) but to cater to pharmaceuticals and other lobbyists. The reality of the death that Republican practices cause is denied. They die anyway. The list goes on and on. Juanita’s opponent fought hard to run on the Republican ticket.
It is Democrats that fight every day for the disadvantaged. Syracuse is currently the 13th poorest city in the land. Juanita’s opponent has a staggering list of wealthy donors and Political strongmen. They expect a return. They want their Mayor and their Congressional Candidate in short order. This means that at a time when Syracuse is squandering in poverty and the need for leadership that will protect the City is at its highest, the funding for our hope will instead finance and strengthen even further, the three generations of politicos and donors that support Juanita’s opponent. As her opponent speaks of his care for the neighborhoods he will in deed repay donors and pave the road for Congress, not the Adams Street on ramp or the dilapidated sidewalk on Berger Ave. The city will endure yet another administration of false care and real neglect as the few unfairly increase wealth and power. It is the status quo that took us down. Please look at our history and ask yourself “Where has the money gone?” It did not go to the poor. It did not go to the Middle Class. It was not spent on infrastructure or crime or safety. It went to rich people, Ben’s people. Their pursuit is your money and your power. Please do not give it to them.
Please know Juanita will treat wealth fairly and fully recognizes the contribution of those that make things happen. This is different. It is status quo that provenly is not the answer to hope. It is specific donors that have selected a Republican thinking candidate because they know his family and his family’s’ history and they know his favor as Mayor and Congressman will enrich their power and wealth. With money meant to help our City. This is just fine with them, even at the expense of deserving peers, not to mention our neglected on East Fayette St. Juanita cares about all that have achieved and fairness will prevail and be sure that the family on Kenmore that has no transportation and no nearby store will be remembered and cared for as well.
With Juanita as Mayor you will enjoy following the news as ideas become realities, as despair gives way to inspiration and deed and as our people come to see that we have a leader that cares about them. A leader that will set the standard, that has new innovative ideas, ideas that will improve our quality of life and that other cities will study and follow.
If Juanita wins City money will be spent in the most valuable and wise ways, by the finest that humans can be. It will be spent to improve and to build our city, to lower crime and indeed stop senseless murder, to fight the drug scourge, to end blight, and to beautify our neighborhoods, and to seek companies willing to experiment in our communities and find ways to embrace and rebuild America the way she was meant to be.
Juanita’s opponent is not just Ben Walsh, it is also an assemblage of wealthy and influential individuals that have taken cities to where they are. They buy truth and put it in their political machine and it comes out lies and dirt. Money and power is their goal. Look at today’s Cities. Don’t let them fool you. Here is your truth: Juanita Perez Williams is a compassionate, intelligent and energetic woman. It is these precise traits in their finest form that will cause the beacon that Syracuse will become. It won’t be long and others will model their policies after us.
Democrats do not believe we owe each other a living but we do believe that we owe each other the opportunity to make a living and live a fair life. An old friend once said “when you take away one’s ability to farm and self-sustain, there must be an option for them to move forward”. We are no longer a land of farmers and yet the takers spend their existence finding ways to unemploy us. That is not Democratic. Juanita will move forward with unique ideas and thinking, energy and focus, compassion and wisdom, and Syracuse will be the beneficiary of new day.
No one can be all things to both sides. But we all can be our best as God and nature have allowed us to be. I offer you this in that spirit. Juanita Perez Williams served 6 years in the United States Navy. She was a Lieutenant Commander. She comprehends the full measure of devotion and will lead in their name. I know her to be an extraordinary and rare individual. In a lifetime you only see a few with such finely blended professional qualification and high character and ability. It is to us to see through all the nasty politics and see when one of the talented few is really among us. I assure you that Juanita Perez Williams will serve the true intent of our founders and the dream of this land and wherever she goes the meaning of our so hallowed sacrifice will be her guide. I urge you to be part of a future in our City you have not seen before. A City with neighborhoods enthused with hope, and enlightened with spirit. A city where each citizen sees what is happening and becomes a part of something wonderful. A City inspired by rare and talented leadership, ready to move forward and become the beacon for all to follow. Please vote for Juanita Perez Williams for Mayor of Syracuse.
