They are open Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 am to 5 pm, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 7 am to 7 pm and they are closed on Sundays. They are conveniently located in West Val Plaza at 2204 West Genesee Street in Syracuse.

They take pride in the fact that they are brewing coffee from Café Kubal, using beans that are roasted right here in Central New York. Not only is the coffee the best quality but it also supports our local economy! From a regular coffee, to drip brewed coffee, espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, you can find it all at Kava Café. They also offer seasonal latte flavors that you won’t find anywhere else. This time of year you can look for flavors like “Nutty Professor,” “Mistletoe Kiss,” “Peppermint Patti, “and “Holiday Cheer.” You should certainly try one of their delicious homemade pasties to perfectly compliment the wonderful cup of coffee. They have a huge selection of croissants, cookies, bars and cakes. In my opinion you shouldn’t leave Kava Café without a slice of the poppy seed cake!

What really sets Kava Café apart from the rest is their unique menu. The owner and his family moved to Syracuse from Ukraine and have brought a ton of great recipes (Grandma’s recipes) and flavors and they are now sharing them with the rest of us! At Kava Café they love introducing people to Ukrainian food. Try the golumbki with beef, feb2015-bus-sandrice, and carrots, wrapped in steamed cabbage or a bowl of the Red Borsch soup with red beets, cabbage, potato, chicken and carrots. You should also try one of their amazing pierogies. They have many varieties to choose from like potato, potato and cheese, sauerkraut, cheese, sauerkraut mushroom, potato bacon cheddar, potato bacon, sauerkraut chicken, and potato onion. All dishes are served Ukrainian style, with different ingredients, spices, and sauces than you make have had in the past. They also run a special palter with pierogies, kielbasa, golumbki! For those feeling less adventurous they also offer sandwiches like BLT’s, Smoked Turkey, Ham and Swiss, and even Veggie.

Kava Café also has a variety of unique and charming items for sale. At Kava Café you can pick up a set of authentic nesting dolls and t-shirts featuring a tea cup with a Ukrainian pattern and even Ukrainian Scarves. You can also find a selection of European chocolates and also KVAS, a Ukrainian malt beverage (without alcohol) that is a favorite treat across Ukraine.
